Working Cows Dairy Harvesting came a long about 4 years ago. We were tired of waiting for the custom harvesting crew out of Florida, that we decided to buy our own equipment.
Every year we increase the acres of corn we custom chop and put in a bag for farmers in a 50 mile radius. Last year(2007) we cut corn on 3500 acres. Most of this corn was dry land corn and was only 3-4 foot high. This year we hope to have a better corn crop for every body.
This year Jan is starting a dirt moving business. He can move a lot of dirt in a small time frame, with 2-17 yard pans and his
big tractor.
Below: Some of 2007 's harvesting pictures with Jan, Jonny, Mendy, Ike de Jong and Toby Edmondson.

Well we did not harvast much corn this year(2008) because corn price been real high for farmers to sell corn.
Only a few farmers wanted to keep some for there cows.

Accidents happen too.
On October 1st. 2009 Jan was working on the floor from the Mack truck, he had lifted the door with our small skidloader, when that leaked down he got the big back door in the back of his head. He broke about every bone in his face, but never much of the skin.
We where blessed that day.
The next day our boys where going to finish up the harvesting of some really dry hay, when our chopper caught on fire.
